SMS opt-in and consent flow

This page documents every way an end user consents to receive text messages from a business using Auvro Front Desk. It is published publicly so campaign reviewers can verify the consent experience without a login.

What we are. Auvro Front Desk is an appointment booking and phone answering service used by small local businesses such as pet groomers, salons, and dental offices. When a customer books an appointment with one of those businesses, they may choose to receive a text confirmation of that appointment. All messages are transactional and relate to an appointment the customer requested. We never send marketing or promotional messages, and we never message a person who has not booked an appointment.

Opt-in path 1 — Website booking form

The customer books an appointment on the business's own website. On the final step of the booking form, below their name and phone number, there is a consent checkbox. The checkbox is unchecked by default. The customer must actively tick it. Booking succeeds whether or not they tick it, so consent is never a condition of purchase.

Exactly what the customer sees

A live example of this form is at mapetgrooming.netlify.app — choose a service, pick a time, and continue to the final step to see the consent checkbox.

Opt-in path 2 — Verbal consent on a phone call

The customer calls the business. Our automated receptionist answers, takes the booking, and before completing it asks the customer directly whether they want a text confirmation. Consent is recorded only when the customer says yes. If they decline, no text is ever sent to that number. Every call is recorded and transcribed, and the consent response is stored against the booking record.

Exact script the assistant follows

Assistant: "Would you like a text confirmation of your appointment?"
Customer: "Yes, please."
Assistant: "Great, I'll text the confirmation to the number you gave me. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts."

The customer's yes or no is captured as a boolean on the booking. A "no" means the customer receives no SMS of any kind.
